You would like to head out on an adventure that will leave you feeling breathless, and we want to give you the opportunity to do just that. We would like to take you on an experience that you will remember forever, guiding you on a Northern Lights tour by sea in Iceland.

It’s a unique experience to see the Northern lights from sea. You can relax in a nice atmosphere in our warm overalls and enjoy snacks and refreshments available on board.

On our tour you will experience incredible view over Reykjavik city from the coastline.

Please be aware that due to environmental reasons during certain times of the year our trips may be delivered on a shared boat with one of our partners. At Reykjavik Sailors we are committed to ensuring the environment is kept pristine by making sure fewer boats are on the water.

Itinerary

Check Tour Status: Prior to arrival, check the tour status on our homepage in the Daily Diary. Stay informed about any updates or weather conditions via email.

Meeting Point: Arrive at Geirsgata 11, Special Tours ticket office in Reykjavík Old Harbour. If you selected pickup service, please be ready at your designated pickup location 60 minutes before departure.

Boarding: Guests meeting directly should arrive at Geirsgata 11 at least 30 minutes before departure. If using pickup service, our team will collect you from the selected pickup point.

Embarkation: Board our comfortable vessel, equipped with warm flotation overalls, heated indoor cabins, onboard restrooms, and free WiFi.

Sail into Faxaflói Bay: Depart from Reykjavík Old Harbour and cruise away from the city lights into the dark waters of Faxaflói Bay in search of the magical Northern Lights.

Northern Lights Experience: Watch the night sky for the Aurora Borealis dancing above the ocean while our experienced guides share information and local stories about this incredible natural phenomenon.

Scenic Night Views: Enjoy beautiful nighttime views of Reykjavík’s coastline, surrounding mountains, and the peaceful Icelandic sea beneath the Arctic sky.

Onboard Amenities: Stay warm and comfortable with heated indoor seating, complimentary seasickness tablets, onboard restroom facilities, and free WiFi throughout the tour.

Tour Duration: The Northern Lights by Boat tour lasts approximately 2–3 hours depending on weather and viewing conditions.

Return to Harbour: Conclude the experience by returning to Reykjavík Old Harbour.

Optional: If no Northern Lights are seen during the tour, you may join another Northern Lights by Boat tour free of charge.
